Mumbai...The city of DREAMS...

You must have often heard people saying,or you surely must have come across this quote:
"MUMBAI..The city where dreams come true.. "

Yes it is true indeed. This city has some magical power which drives people towards itself. People from all across the country come towards this bizzare place hoping to earn loads of money and have a comfortable life. Some people make it through, while some remain struggling till the end.Few of them acheive their goals and attain huge heights of success, while there are few who somehow manage to earn their bread and butter.Being a Mumbaikar,is not everyone's cup of tea!But no matter what happens, this city has a lesson to teach for each individual residing in it.

When i was in my childhood, vacations meant everything to me.Of course, everybody loves to enjoy their holidays!!During my summer vacations, my parents used to take me to mumbai.Whenever i used to come here, there was some kind of excitement that I used to have in my mind.My mother being a mumbaikar had spent all her years in this city itself. My father had also completed his education here as well.I used to live at my mama's place ,everytime I came here.In those days Mumbai only meant as a holiday destination to me.Come, enjoy and return back.

However when I grew up ,it was my turn to face this city. It was no more a mere vacation place.I had to come to this place to pursue my career .It had now become a proving ground for me, to show the world and convince myself, what things i'm capable to achieve in my life.My perceptions about this city kept on changing. After my 10th grade I shifted to this city, hoping to get good education,a good job and a settled life.Like every person who comes to this city, I too had dreams to become a big personality one day.Soon i realised that living in this city is not as easy as it looks.Behind the glamorous shopping malls and shining city lights there lies an untold darker side.Like a coin has 2 faces, even this place also had its benefits and threats as well..

This city resides more than 1.6 crore people. No wonder it is one of the most populated city in the world.People of all casts and religions live here. Also it has a railway system which commutes about 8 million passengers daily. An average Mumbaikar spends 2 hours a day travelling to his workplace itself!!People are so busy here, that they hardly have any time to look around what's happening. The quality of life is degrading day by day and human life has no value in this city.

There is a cut throat competition.Nobody would hesitate to even kill if you try to come across their way.Everybody just want to keep on moving ahead and ahead and on and on....
The human touch and moral values have just dissappeared from the lives of the people.Everybody is so worried about their future that they only want to earn money, money and more money.People are forgetting to find happiness in small things and also forgetting how simple life actually is.
I often remember the dialogue quoted in the movie Ek Challis ki Last Local.. which says...."Mumbai....ek sheher, jahan admi apni kismat slow track se fast track pe lane me gava deta hai"!!!!
It is such a strange city where you will find millions of souls, but not even a single soul to talk and open your heart out!!!
This city is also responsible to fill the stomach of its 15 million people. At the end of the day, no person sleep's empty stomach here.No matter what odd time the clock is ticking, you can surely get a cup of coffee/chai/boost@anna or a chinese food order, even @3a.m in the night..!!!It is undoubtedly called "the city that never sleeps".

Living here has taught me many important lessons of my life.It taught me to be stone-hearted and rigid in any situation, life may through upon me.That one  should never loose hope and keep on trying inspite of a thousand failures.Let there be incidents, when life will punch you hard, right into your face...at such times ,you should have the courage ,to GET UP,look towards the sky,and say to the almighty.."NO GOD..!! I will NOT give up so easily...!!!"Also the most important lesson, which is to move ahead and get over ,with any bad incident or a tough phase of life you are going through."Time will keep on flowing ,does'nt matter which phase you are going through,be it a merry one or a painful one"

Every person living here has a dream to follow.Be it a auto driver or a high profile buissnessman. The city never stops.People keep on working 24x7,all year round just to keep the city moving ahead.

As for me,i will keep on following my dreams, and so will you do.It will be interesting to watch what mystery Mumbai has hidden in its future.:):)

Even if the sky falls down Mumbai will keep on pacing ahead. It will forever remain "The city of dreams".

Long live Mumbai!!!
